Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

Marshall and Lily are now back together, and are re-engaged after Marshall and Lily reverse roles with Lily proposing to Marshall. After having sex on the kitchen floor just like when Marshall originally proposed to Lily, Marshall tells Lily of how his family had harsh words about her after she left for San Francisco. Marshall is a bit worried too, so they suddenly decide to elope to Atlantic City. They immediately go and find Robin (at work at the news station), Ted (at work at an architecture firm), and Barney (at a salon getting a pedicure). After all five get a pedicure, they head to Atlantic City, and are nearly ready to be married in 20 minutes (Lily needs a veil and a bouquet, Robin needs to find something that doesn't outdo Lily stylewise, which is a shirt with a bikini-clad body on it, and Marshall, Ted and Barney need to have a bachelor party, which consists of going to the strip club for 18 minutes). However, they run into many roadblocks, such as needing a marriage license quickly, then trying to get to international waters, and then getting the money.

Meanwhile, Barney, who has been to Atlantic City before, runs into a few Chinese guys that he used to gamble with. They know his catchphrases "Suit Up!" and "Legen - wait for it - dary!" He tells the rest of them that he used to gamble and had a serious problem and stopped. However, Barney is sure he can win them the money. He enters a confusing Chinese game that no one else understands. However, after watching it, Marshall understands, and gives Barney some directions that help Barney win a lot of money. Marshall and Lily are prepared to be married on a boat, but now that it's finally happening, they decide they want to (and have to) face Marshall's family, and decide not to get married. However, they were accidentally married by the guy on the boat (they were in international waters, and did not have to have a marriage license) and they asked him to undo the marriage, which he did. However, Marshall and Lily were married for 12 seconds.
