Atif (Arabic: عاطف) is an Arabic male name generally used by Muslims and other communities belonging to an Arabic background. In Arabic, it means The kind one. In Islam, Al-Wadud means the Kind One which is one of the 100 Names of Allah. However being an Appellation, it cannot be regarded as an indigenous Islamic name. A derivation of this name is Aatif. Its actual literal meaning is: Affectionate and Compassionate. The name Aatif is quite rare since most people named Aatif spell the name as Atif.
