[edit] Summary
The @Home Assistant was a program which gave users a quick view of information available on the Excite@Home Internet service. It was mainly so users would not need to run the full @Home software package. When launched, the @Home Assistant appeared on a user's desktop as a small icon. It would then provide one-click access to information -- without the need to leave their computer's desktop or launch the full Excite@Home web browser.
