The men's hammer throw was a track and field athletics event held as part of the Athletics at the 1904 Summer Olympics programme. It was the second time the event was held. 6 athletes, all from the United States, competed.
Flanagan, the reigning champion, defended his gold medal and set a new Olympic record.
