Athanasios Miaoulis

Athanasios Miaoulis (1815 – June 7, 1867) was a Prime Minister of Greece. Born in Hydra in 1815 the son of the famous Greek admiral Andreas Miaoulis, from whom he learned his navigation skills. Moreover, Athanasios learned much about naval affairs from reading the letters of Phillip Ioannou. He finished military school in Munich and served as an officer in the Greek Navy. He became an adjutant of King Otto and in 1855 became Naval Minister. He became Prime Minister of Greece from November 13, 1857 until May 26, 1862. He died in Paris, France on June 7, 1867.
