Ateo Phillip Leto High School was established in 1965 on West Sligh Avenue in Tampa, Florida.
The school is named in honor Ateo Phillip Leto, a noted Hillsborough County educator. He was originally to serve as the school's first principal but died before the school year began.
Leto opened with only grades with 9-11 in 1965 and did not graduate a class until 1967.
The school colors are red, gold and white. The school mascot is the Falcon.
