Asuma Shinohara

Asuma Shinohara (篠原遊馬 - Shinohara Asuma) is one of the main characters from the anime series "Mobile Police Patlabor".

Asuma Shinohara is the son of the head of Shinohara Heavy Industries, the company that makes 90% of the labors in the world. Smart, honest and sometimes a bit hot-headed, Asuma is a very good officer. After a falling out with his father, he joined the police force and requested to work with the labor units. When in the field, Asuma is Noa Izumi and Hiromi Yamazaki's commanding officer, though he is himself often used by Captain Goto as a lackey. During combat, Asuma demonstrates talent in multiple fields. This does not go unnoticed by Captain Goto.

Asuma has always had a soft spot for Noa, but due to his rank and nature, is rather reluctant to express his feelings towards her. It is not known whether Noa senses Asuma's feelings, but she does consider him her closest friend. After working with the SV2, Asuma and Noa went on to develop labors for production. Noa's talent for piloting and Asuma's vast technical knowledge make the two of them an invaluable team, both on or off the battlefield.
