Who Is Astrobayes?
Quite simply I have a passion for science and a love of knowledge: I have made both my life's work, and I wish to bring this passion and my experience to the Wiki community by contributing, editing, reviewing, and creating Wiki articles on the subjects of physics, astronomy, astrophysics, mathematics, biology, and electronics, and related subjects. Time of course is always a factor but I look forward to contributing whenever time allows and I plan to get involved in the Science Wiki as well.
As for my qualifications, I received my Bachelor of Science degree in physics and my Master of Science degree in physics. I have also done research in astronomy/astrophysics, and I have taken part in public science outreach for years with the Society of Physics Students through the American Institute of Physics. In addition, I've done biophysics and photonics research, and I read regularly from peer-reviewed journals and texts on these subjects. I currently work in a high energy research facility for the DOE.
[edit] My Primary Contributions
The articles I spend the most time on are:
and many more...
I have also taught undergraduate college physics labs, given public lectures on astronomy and astrophysics, and I have generally been involved in and supported public science outreach and education. I would love to talk with or receive suggestions from other science educators on my Wiki contributions. Please leave comments on my Talk Page. Cheers!
[edit] Wikipedia Project: Physics
I am a member of the Wikipedia Physics Project, where I hope to bring my experience as a physicist to improve the quality of Wiki articles on physics, mathematics and mathematical physics, geophysics, astrophysics, and fundamental science in general.
Although my name is not Steve, I still tacitly support Project Steve, in its fight against the Dark Ages of Human Dogma. May Knowledge be our doorway to our humanity, our Universe, and ultimately our Selves. Astrobayes 22:22, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
