Aslan's Mane is the pen name for the upcoming Italian-American renaissance man, Andrea deCandia. It is beleived that this real-life Superman has chosen this pen name from a character from his favorite novel series, The Chronicles of Narnia.
Andrea deCandia was born on May 13, 1988 in Englewood, NJ. His parents Cosmo deCandia and Sarah Tomasello were both of Italian descent, but always differed in thier desired country of residence. Cosmo deCandia wished to live in his homeland, Italy. Sarah Tomasello wished to live where her father had immigrated, and her family had made thier home. This would be a main catalyst in their seperation and eventual divorce.
Shortly after his birth, Andrew moved to Trani, Italy with his parents, two brothers, Phil and Guido, and sister Teresa. Here he live for several years, until in 1993, when he would return to America. Andrew would make Palisades Park, NJ his home, quickly assimilating to the American culture. Slowly Andrew would lose his fluent Italian, and master the English language. From a young age Andrew found academics to be unchallanging and uninteresting. With little to no effort he would breeze by each grade level. This was the case up until June of 2003, when Andrew moved to Park Ridge, NJ.
Here Andrew would find that it was very different then where he had lived before. Here academics were more challenging. This community was more integrated. A smaller population, and less commercialized, Park Ridge had a completly different culture. It may just have been another country, for it was as foreign to Andrew as anythign had ever been. Andrew would describe Park Ridge as a wonderfull town, wishing had lived there his whole life. Despite this new place, Andrew would not find the motivation he needed. He continued his unimpressing habits, always searching for motivation. Andrew had ambition, but without focus. Blindly learning and experiencing from life, Andrew deCandia is still searching for his inspiration. Soon, he will be attending Rutgers University, where experts believe he will acquire this enlightenment.
