Askizsky District is a region of the Republic of Khakassia, a federal subject of Russia (a republic) located in south central Siberia. Askizkiy is the region in which Khakassians make up their largest share of total population in (40.61% in 1989). Natural growth rate of population was -5.81 per 1000 in 1994.
