ASK Riga

ASK Rīga was the name of several sports teams based in Riga, Latvia.
Basketball team ASK Rīga was very popular in 1950s-60s and had become European club champions in 1958, 1959, and 1960. The team continued to play in Soviet League until the end of Soviet Union in early 1990s.
A basketball team with this name was reformed on March 23, 2006, supported by Riga City Council, National Armed Forces, Parex banka and various sponsors. It currently is participating in the national league and Baltic Basketball League.
Ice hockey team ASK Rīga was playing in Latvian hockey league between 1931 and 1940. 5 times they won the championship.
Previously ASK Rīga was also name of Latvian soccer club.
