Asia-hotels.com is an Asian accommodation reservations site operated by Flairview Travel Pty Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Travelport, a diverse network of travel brands and distribution businesses in the world. The website, with resources from its sister sites, HotelClub.com and RatesToGo.com, offers rates on hotels in Asia along with destination guides, travelers tales and guest reviews.

Founded by Jon Stonham and Riyaz Moorani in Hong Kong in 1997, Asia-hotels.com grew to a full fleet of operations with key offices in Manila and Singapore. Further enriching its expertise in the Asian market are projects with corporate partners which included CNN Hotel Partners, Global Sources, Reuters and South China Morning Post Publishers.

One feature which pushed the popularity of Asia-hotels.com is its collection of guest reviews posted on site. It spawned the survey program called Asian Hotel Awards in 2001 recognizing the best places to stay in when visiting the region for work or play. Inspired by the overwhelming response in votes, their first-ever guidebook, “Asia’s Best Hotels and Resorts”, was published in collaboration with Insight Guides in 2003. The book was sold in bookshops in and out of Asia, attracting a wide readership due to its indispensable reviews and full-color pictures. Successful runs in the press demanded a second edition in 2005 with updated listing. A year after, the Australia-New Zealand title saw print as well.

In 2004, Cendant Travel Distribution Services (now known as Travelport), sought to make its presence known in Asia and the Pacific markets. Thus one of the acquisitions during this initiative was Flairview Travel Pty Ltd, a leading Australian e-wholesaler of hotel room rates across the globe. To drive its stake in the Asian market, Cendant purchased Asia-hotels.com in February 2005. With this move, the website now enjoys a wider reach of consumers and affiliates worldwide with its services integrated onto HotelClub.com and RatesToGo.com.
