Hello, I am an avid Fire Emblem fan (hence the name) and a general fan of videogames, so many of my contributions will be centred around videogames. I am from Middlesbrough, England and am a lifelong Boro fan (Middlesbrough Football Club).I only own Nintendo consoles and prefer Eastern games, I also love The Legend of Zelda series and I am in the minority in viewing The Legend of Zelda: the Wind Waker as one of the best entries. I am the brother of Metal gear ninty, and a fan of the Metal Gear series, (although it in no way supercedes Zelda as the greatest game series).You may also know me as anon at the Fire Emblem World comments board.

Why must I use the name of a tyrannical FE villain as a Username? Because he is one of the greatest characters to grace a games console. He is probably the strongest unit in the Fire Emblem series and some of his quotes are absolute classics, no one can be as demonic as him yet be so humerous. He also has the most remarkable weapon in the game: Gurgurant. Statistically, he is stronger than the Black Knight, yet he is inferior in skill; so the outcome of a duel would depend merely on luck, (eventhough I'd opt for Ashnard to prevail). However, Ashnard is unique in being able to touch Lehran's medallion (only applicable in Hard mode) without becoming berserk; could this possibly imply that he holds greater strength than the esteemed Gawain? The "Hero" who buthchered his Wife at the mere touch of the medallion. Ashnard then becomes Mad King Ashnard, who then succumbs to enhanced battle statistics, at this point, he easily surpasses the Black Knight.

He's also quite diplomatic (in a strange, ironic way), whilst the generic villagers discriminate against the Laguz, he is racially equalitarian, even employing the apparent half breed Petrine and the Goldoan Ena, (although it is debatable as to whether he was aware of their race). He is an elitist, he is the elite. He believes the strongest must rule over weak, this idealogy is further reinforced after his gracious death quote (which happens to be similar in nature to that of the Black Knight's.)

That is why the charismatic antagonist is greater than the rather stereotypical Lord, Ike.

Note: Although I favour Ashnard, I do not concur with the ideologies that he displays throughout the game (well, most of them).
