[edit] List of Final Fantasy XII characters
Please don't redirect it to List of Final Fantasy XII characters without going through proper channels first. Dread Lord CyberSkull ✎☠ 23:26, 24 December 2005 (UTC)
- What "proper channels" would those be? It's been discussed at length on Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Final Fantasy as well as Talk:List of Final Fantasy XII characters, where the consensus was to merge (at least for the time being). – Seancdaug 01:03, 25 December 2005 (UTC)
- With a transition period... --QubitOtaku (talk) 01:16, 25 December 2005 (UTC)
- What was the whole protracted dicussion at both of the above pages if not exactly that? – Seancdaug 01:19, 25 December 2005 (UTC)
- The whole discussion was a waste of time for me, I don't think anything changed... we couldn't agree on how long an article should be before we allow its own. We discussed a transition period to keep articles until the information was sent over, but that seems to be lost. --QubitOtaku (talk) 01:28, 25 December 2005 (UTC)
- Qubit, we did agree on a transition period, but in the context of Final Fantasy IX articles. You had already agreed to wait until the release of Final Fantasy XII before revisiting this particular issue. I see you have since changed your mind on that point, but I am not telepathic and I can only assume that your comments reflect your actual opinions. And regarding the issue of "how long," while the particulars remained unresolved, I would once more point out that numerous character entries in other lists (notably List of Final Fantasy VI characters) are already longer than this article, and in the months that that has been the case, there have been no complaints. I apologize for any confusion, but I was frankly unaware that the question, as it related to the particulars of this article, was still unresolved. – Seancdaug 02:00, 25 December 2005 (UTC)

- I meant with something like {{mergeto}}. Dread Lord CyberSkull ✎☠ 00:33, 26 December 2005 (UTC)
- Ah, fair point. I was just being bold, and figured that there'd already been substantial discussion and consensus behind the merger (apparently, I was wrong, but that's another story...). – Seancdaug 02:50, 26 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Do we really need an infobox?
All else aside, it seems a little silly to have an infobox that communicates such little information: most of the entries are non-starters (are there even classes in the game, in the classic sense?), and the useful information that is there is repeated within the first couple of sentences in the article itself. Aesthetically, it just seems to clutter up the article without adding much of value. – Seancdaug 02:50, 26 December 2005 (UTC)
