Ashwell is a village and civil parish in the county of Rutland in the East Midlands of England. It is located about 3 miles North of Oakham. In 2001 it had a population of 236.

Ashwell prison, a Category C prison, is located about two miles south of the centre of the village. The kennels of the Cottesmore Hunt have moved to a farm in the parish.
