Ashtown is a rapidly developing suburb of Dublin. Situated on the Royal Canal, it is near the Navan Road. Many apartment schemes have been built here in recent years, transforming what was previously a rural area, indeed many roads in the area lack pavements. The Dublin-Sligo railway also passes through the area and it is served by Ashtown station.
