Ashton Carter

Ashton B. Carter is a United States national security professional. As of 2004, he is Ford Foundation Professor of Science and International Affairs at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. He was an advisor to John Kerry during the latter's 2004 campaign for the U.S. presidency, and served as Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Policy for former President Bill Clinton, from 1994-1996.
