Ashton-under-Lyne by-election, 1931

The Ashton-under-Lyne by-election, 1931 was a by-election held on 30th April 1931 for the British House of Commons constituency of Ashton-under-Lyne in Lancashire. The by-election was triggered by the death of the town's Conservative Party Member of Parliament (MP) Albert Bellamy.
The result was a victory for the Conservative candidate John Broadbent, who held the seat with a reduced majority.
This was the first election contested by Oswald Moseley's New Party.
