Ashoknagar (also Ashok Nagar) is a city in Madhya Pradesh state of central India. It is the administrative headquarters of Ashoknagar District. it was previously in in Guna district.

As of 2001 India censusGRIndia, Ashok Nagar had a population of 57,682. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Ashok Nagar has an average literacy rate of 63%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with 60% of the males and 40% of females literate. 16% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Ashoknagar is famous for the Jain temple called Trikaal Choubese, where the idols of past, present, and future Thirthankars, described in Jin religion, is found. It is also famous for the place Chanderi which is about 35 km from Ashoknagar. In Chanderi ancient sculptures are there in large numbers. Thubon Sidha Kshetra is a pilgrim centre for Jains. It is about 28km from Ashoknagar.
