Asdrubal Cabrera

Asdrubal Cabrera (b. November 13, 1985 in Puerto La Cruz, Venezuela) is a switch hitting infielder in the Cleveland Indians (Major League Baseball) organization. He finished the 2006 season playing for the Indians AAA affiliate Buffalo Bisons of the International League. His primary position is shortstop, although he also played second base while in the Seattle Mariners organization in 2004 and 2005. He was acquired by the Indians from the Mariners June 30, 2006 in exchange for Eduardo Perez.

Cabrera was a non-roster invitee to the Indians 2007 spring training camp, but was reassigned to their minor league camp March 16. He is expected to begin 2007 with Buffalo as their starting shortstop.
