This article is about a village in Yamagata Prefecture, Japan. Asahi is a common name in Japan, for other uses see Asahi.
Asahi is a village located in the Higashi-tagawa District, Yamagata Prefecture, Japan. The village has no special relationship with another Asahi in the same prefecture. The village has no special relationship with the adjacent Asahi in the Niigata Prefecture.
Asahi literally means "morning sun". The village is named after Asahi Mountains, which shines bright in the morning light.

The village was established in 1954 by with the merger of Oizumi, Hongo, and Azuma Villages.
