[edit] Summary
Most of the image frame is occupied by the Ptolemaeus crater on the Moon. The smaller crater on the interior floor in the northeast quadrant is Ammonius.
This image was taken during the Apollo 16 mapping metric sequence, revolution 28. The selenographic coordinates of this image are 9.20° S, 2.50° W.
The picture was produced by rotating the image 90° counter-clockwise so that north is toward the top edge, then reducing it in size to 25%.
