Wikipedia talk:Articles for deletion/Jayram Menon

This AFD cycle has a very funny odor. People defending the article, trying delaying tactics, vandals attempting to change votes from Delete to Keep. Everything short of actually doing anything to demonstrate notability. Makes me very suspicious about this guy. - Richfife 00:07, 8 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Recent delete of Jayram Menon

Indeed this AfD cycle seem to be pre-empted by two or three admins who seem to be hell bent on the article's deletion. The delete was presumably due to non-verifiability. The original AfD was initiated by an administrator (Brian/btball) - based the AfD on an erroneous premise on the number of hits that was got through a Google search. However the dispute remained on the verifiability. I am enclosing a scan of a press/news item that was featured in a leading newspaper in India that does acknowledge the notability and verifiability of the individual. This was featured in the 2nd Aug 2005 and the news paper can be contacted for its verifiability. (Verifyability for Jayram Menon]. Its upto the administrators to review the deletion and be fair. You mean the AfD cycle that ran for twice the normal time and had two people in opposition (both of whom had shown up on Wikipedia only when the article went into AFD) and 7 in support of deletion? - Richfife 22:36, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
