[edit] Death to micronations
Delete Death to micronations (except Sealand) Denni ☯ 03:51, 6 January 2006 (UTC)
This vote shows what kind of people we are dealing with. BTW, I´d like to say that I am trying to REDUCE the article to make it more "general", and someone is NOT allowing me to do so. (signed: Claudre) 200.142.120.138 11:26, 6 January 2006 (UTC)
- I agree that the comment was out of order. I don't think that sentiment is common of those who wish to delete the page. I suspected that most are Wikipedians who have been around for a while and recognize problems with including the article. --JeremyStein 14:57, 6 January 2006 (UTC)
- I see what you mean about someone reverting your edits. That's probably because you're deleting large sections without adding an edit summary. They probably think you're vandalizing the page. I suggest you try again with an edit summary. --JeremyStein 20:47, 6 January 2006 (UTC)

- "Death to micronations" If you honestly cannot see the not-so-subtle hyperbole here, then all I can say is I feel bad for you. At the same time, there are micronations and there are micronations. Sealand is a real micronation. On the other hand, if you're serious in getting your apartment declared a duty-free zone, then all I can do is encourage you to stop engaing in wishful thinking, andf please don't expect Wikipedia to treat you with credence. I encourage you to Get A Grip, and underatnd that most micronation hopefuls are like most videogame hopefuls, with about as much credibility. Denni ☯ 01:34, 7 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Fictional Country
If there is a category Category:Fictional countries for Fictional Countries, why can´t Reunion be listed? Maybe racism because we are mostly Brazilians? Claudre 11:37, 6 January 2006 (UTC)
- Reunion would need to be a notable fictional country. While I'm sure it's very notable to you, it needs to meet the guidelines laid out by consensus of the Wikipedia community, such as WP:WEB. As for racism, I think you'll find non-notable websites deleted with equal passion regardless of their national affiliation. --JeremyStein 14:57, 6 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Shortening the article
Maybe the article is too long, what about if I left only the "what reunion is", "what reunion stands for" parts, and exclude all the explanations about how things work? I believe the fact that we have been targeted by SO MANY newspaper/media attention and even books about the subject of fictitious countries makes us notable. How does one count the votes? Are only the votes of registered wikipedians counted? 200.142.120.138 18:21, 6 January 2006 (UTC)
- I think removing the text on its inner workings would be a good start. It's important also to assert why it's significant to the world, not just to you. Ask yourself why newspaper articles have decided to mention it. Regarding vote counting, it's largely up to the judgment of an administrator. See Wikipedia:Deletion guidelines for administrators. --JeremyStein 20:47, 6 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Micronation
What about including the article in the CATEGORY "micronations", where you can find the PRINCIPALITY OF FREEDONIA and the nation of Atlantium, which have received much less attention of the media compared to Reunion? Which are "game clubs" like Reunion? We have signed treaties with them, for God´s Sake, what makes them different? Claudre 12:43, 7 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] "the preceding vote will be discount"
Can anyone tell us what is that? ALL KEEP IT votes will be discounted? Including votes of registered wikipedians?? What is that?? 200.142.120.138 13:29, 9 January 2006 (UTC)
- It doesn't matter if it's a keep vote or a delete vote - new and anonymous users cannot vote in AfD. Rhobite 20:25, 9 January 2006 (UTC)
