Wikipedia talk:Articles for deletion/Ashida Kim

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

There is way to much unrelated rant here for me to work through. First, no, in general we do not delete articles just because the subject of the article requests it. We will however remove any untrue information from the article, so if you can point out specific facts in the article and prove they are untrue then they will be deleted. IMO the Talk:Ashida Kim page is the best page to point out factual inaccuracies about the article; but please try to keep any comments you make concise and to the point, at least if you want anobody to read them and take them seriously. • I disagree with that statement of the burden of proof - material must be verifiable to go in the article in the first place, so the burden is on an editor seeking to add material. If material has been added and properly sourced, then the burden would shift to the person seeking to delete it. For example, plenty of *ahem* contributors have added material to Karl Rove making implications about the subject's sexual orientation. We don't ask for proof that these claims are untrue before deleting them - rather we delete them right away and demand proof of truth from those who wish to include them. -- BD2412 talk 12:47, 18 September 2005 (UTC)

It says right on the User:Ashida Kim page: "Ashida Kim is an internationally renowned martial arts expert..." image:Ironyalert2.gif That plus 17,000 google hits means the Kimster is probably notable enough for an article for most of us here. He just doesn't like that encyclopaedia articles tend to report objectively, and that might scare away the little trailer trash kids whom he wants to fork over hundreds of dollars for his meaningless black belts. All the random trolling he does here is a boondoggle to distract from that, I'm guessing. If he wants a puff piece, he should try People magazine. --Fire Star 21:00, 19 September 2005 (UTC)

He should try getting a life, IMO. I have a brother who's taught karate from a unique perspective for years. He learned from Chuck Norris' own stunt double and sparring partner, so he's the real deal. The moves are standard martial arts; the mental discipline is Christian. The key words here are "mental discipline." Discipline is the first thing he teaches his new classes before they even so much as raise a finger in exercise. This guy seems to be ignoring the basics of Martial Arts 101 at this point. We could offer him complete control of Wikipedia, its servers and content plus a year's supply of "Rice-a Roni, The San Francisco Treat" and the guy would still bitch and moan. - Lucky 6.9 20:24, 21 September 2005 (UTC)

Agreed. He does almost everything that I warn people to look out for in a crap MA teacher. As jni said, we should treat him and his henchmen as another Sollog. --Fire Star 20:29, 21 September 2005 (UTC)

Comment no, this entry was made by me. Not Ashida Kim IPrescott 23:27, 22 September 2005 (UTC)

I didn't say it was made by Ashida Kim. I said it was made by an IP address (64.12.116.139) who also made edits signed "Ashida Kim". Here, have a look. If this person was you, then you should either stop editing Wikipedia from the same IP address used by trolls, or you need to stop signing your comments with other people's names. Cheers! --Ashenai 08:22, 23 September 2005 (UTC)

The above two comments, still on the debate page, were made before the debate was closed and are here for context. The comment below was made after the debate was closed and removed to here by me.--Fire Star 18:31, 25 September 2005 (UTC) Comment - See this shows how screwed up your information is. I live in Pa, which is quite a way from Where Ashida Kim is. I can verify my identity. I know who I am. You need to get your system fixed to log AOL IP's properly, and then, maybe just maybe you'll know who your really talking to.IPrescott 18:01, 25 September 2005 (UTC)

It's logging the IPs correctly... it's not Wikipedia's fault if AOL uses a really goofy system whereby the IPs have no connection with the login sessions or locations. Dump that crappy proprietary online service and get a real ISP, and your accesses will be more reasonably logged. Even better, register with a username. *Dan T.* 18:32, 25 September 2005 (UTC)
