[edit] Suggest merging Agassi's last two years into Andre Agassi

I recommend merging the article Agassi's last two years into Andre Agassi. I'm not sure an entire article devoted strictly to one tennis player's matches for two years is necessary. Any notable facts from those matches could probably be added to the main article for Agassi, if they're not in the article already; detailed play-by-play seems too much. Also, I'm worried about the "last two years" article possibly using either original research or primary sources for some of its information. Therefore I suggest merging whatever verifiable, notable pieces of information are present in the "two years" article directly into Agassi's main article. Dugwiki 20:02, 15 September 2006 (UTC)

The last two years stuff used to be in the main article, but it was way too detailed and way too fluffy, glorifying, emotional, and subjective to remain. It was deleted from the main article and then someone created an entirely new article to be the repository for the deleted material. I vote to either keep the last two years stuff separate or delete it entirely. I am opposed to reincorporating it in the main article. Tennis expert 22:19, 15 September 2006 (UTC)
The point of that article was that there was way too much detail in the main article on his last two years - probably as a result of people editing it regularly to add the latest details. All of the info in that article was originally in the main piece. I just cut it into a new article so that I wouldn't be unilaterally deciding to eliminate content.
In my opinion, none of the info present in the last two years article, that is not already present in the main article, belongs in the main article. Either edit the article to meet standards, or just delete it. Atarr 22:44, 15 September 2006 (UTC)
I say we either merge it back or just kill it off, as the last two years really don't make a good sub-topic.  Daniel_123  ►  12:52, 17 September 2006 (UTC)
I vote to kill off the entire thing--as Tennis expert has noted, its way too glorifying for an encyclopdaedic article, and, IMO, it doesn't really make much sense to have an entire article dedicated to Agassi's last two years--you just don't see that with players like Michael Chang, John McEnroe, Pete Sampras, or even Jimmy Connors (whose final years as a pro were, arguably, just as interesting as Agassi's). --Flute138 20:07, 17 September 2006 (UTC)
I vote to kill it off as well. I am a HUGE Agassi fan, but this is an encyclopedia. Not a tribute site. And to be honest, it anything in his career does NOT warrant a special page, it is his last two years!--HJ 22:10, 17 September 2006 (UTC)
In light of the above comments, I'm going to put this article up for discussion for possible deletion. It sounds like the consensus is leaning that way, so I may as well officially prod it and see what happens. Dugwiki 15:53, 18 September 2006 (UTC)
Absolutely. I say delete it as well. Like Flute138 says, if there's such an article about Agassi, then you have to make the same one for all the great players in history, which is way too long to do. Also why choose his last two years when they're far from being his greatest? I mean, if you really want to put something about Agassi, put the years when he was best! --Dyna 19:05, 19 September 2006 (UTC)
