[edit] Kent University Conservative Association
Local student political group - doesn't seem encyclopedic or notable JeremyA 01:21, 13 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- Delete, not notable. Megan1967 07:16, 13 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- Delete, vanity or something. Their pic doesn't have a copyright tag on it, either. Tygar 08:30, Mar 13, 2005 (UTC)
- Keep, without this kind of contrubution, wikipedia would not be in the position it is in today. Rosscowling 09:15, Mar 13, 2005 (UTC)
- Borderline keep, and it hurts slightly to say that. Evidence that anyone else cares would be nice. Look at the fangs on that one! - David Gerard 13:26, 13 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- Merge into the relevent University student's union article after cutting out all the ego claims (typical politicans). This probably leaves about one line. If any similar Labour or Lib Dem articles are skulking around, get them too. Preferably expand with as full a list of the other clubs as relevent. I also dropped their claim to be 'the dominant force on campus' from the main University page because it's very, very hard to believe and I couldn't find any evidence to support it (googling for the Union president finds him supporting the NUS president, which doesn't sound very right wing to me). - Basing judgments on SU Officers; endorsments for NUS Presidents is very dodgy - a few years ago one of the previous prominent Conservatives in the SU publicly endorsed the left-wing candidate for NUS President. Furthermore the current SU President, from recollection, was elected on massive transfers. The ability to win (or even the readiness to contest) SU elections should not be a measure - at Kent everything possible has always been done to make the elections as unpolitical as possible. I wouldn't merge this into the SU page - individual socities are very distinct from the union and that would not be the best place to locate the page. Timrollpickering 16:13, 13 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- Delete - borderline vanity, given that the only non-anonymous contributor to the article also shares a name with the group's "registrar". CDC (talk) 16:41, 13 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- Delete as vanity. Radiant! 08:58, Mar 14, 2005 (UTC)
- Delete student groups unless spectacularly influential or famous Andrew Lenahan - Starblind 14:35, Mar 14, 2005 (UTC)
- Delete. Student groups are rarely encyclopedic. Gamaliel 17:11, 14 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- Keep who's place is it to decide that this article does not have ageneral public interest - for anyone thinking about attending the university in question for example. unsigned vote from 129.12.200.49
- Our mission is to create an encyclopedia, not to provide free server space for everying of "general public interest". Gamaliel 18:46, 14 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- what exactly do you consider an encyclopedia to be if it is not to inform the public about issues to which they may be interested in.
- Delete. Looks like vanity. Doesn't seem any more notable than the average political club at an average university. Jonathunder 05:35, 2005 Mar 15 (UTC)
