[edit] Hidden: Source
As was agreed in the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Half-Life_2_DeathMatch_Pro debate, individual mods for video games are not inherently notable and do not deserve Wikipedia articles, no matter how colorful and well written. Hidden: Source is another HL2 Mod article and on this same principle, I move it for deletion as non-notable matter. Additionally, this article and game mod articles of it's kind are advertizements stuck into Wikipedia and are matter more suitable for fan sites and game promotional websites, neither of which is a function of Wikipedia. I nominate this page for deletion as useless fancruft and an advertizement. GestaltG 18:41, 7 January 2006 (UTC)
Keep. The words "hidden source" and game [1]returns 43k hits on google= notable. Englishrose 21:57, 7 January 2006 (UTC)
Perhaps we should merge these with the listings page? Put more of a description next to each listing, and eliminate the individual pages for them? Just a thought. Kcbnac 00:42, 8 January 2006 (UTC)
- Comment - there's already a list at List of Half-Life 2 mods -- Thesquire (talk - contribs) 06:14, 8 January 2006 (UTC)
- Sounds like a pretty good idea but the page may become too big so rather than merge, I still think it's best to keep and have indivual pages. Englishrose 01:03, 8 January 2006 (UTC)
- Keep "The Hidden" is a very popular Half-Life 2 mod, it's been featured in PC Gamer, and at any given time there are many servers full of players. As for merging, I don't think this is a good idea; List of Half-Life 2 mods is already very long and wouldn't be able to fit full-on pages for dozens of mods. - Delete per nom, mods are not notable -- Thesquire (talk - contribs) 06:14, 8 January 2006 (UTC)
- Keep Notable Half-Life 2 Mod. RadioActive 22:35, 10 January 2006 (UTC)
- Keep A mod can easily be noticable, and this one has been noticed by many. If you do delete the mods that actually get noticed, then you'll have to delete Counter-Strike and Day of Defeat too, considering they're still mods. Sonicdahedgie January 11
- Keep Why losing a piece of the internet if it can lead to hours of fun? This mod has a lot of effort put in and the gameplay is great.Surely it's worthy enough for a little spot in here.~@BLOODy
- Keep Aggreed. They can provide useful information for those looking to try something new. The Snee
- Weak Keep I'm of the opinion that any total conversion is at the same level of value as retail content. That being said, this entry could use some beefing out, but at the base level it still is informitive and relevent. SwiftSpear 8:02PST 12 January, 2006 (UTC)
Keep Def keep, it is a great mod that has been noted by pcgamer.
- Keep Mods can be notable, depending on creativity, uniqueness, or popularity. Hidden:Source may not be the most popular mod, but it is certainly creative and unique. Absolutely no reason to regard it as not notable, when many retail games that are not mods are less creative or unique, and are regarded as notable. --EntRo 23:20, 12 January 2006 (UTC)
