[edit] BookRags
[Note: Bookrags redirect also exists]
Wikispam. Even worse, wikispam for a company that sells the contents of wikipedia pages through a scam. Cognos 19:15, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
- Delete - This commercial webpage doesn't meet WP:WEB. Alexa says 22,000 (which is horrible). However, I haven't found a scam. It seems like they attribute Wikimedia and the GDFL. ~a (user • talk • contribs) 19:26, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
- Delete Wikipedia is not Google. Subject appears to have no reliable secondary sources Robert A.West (Talk) 19:54, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
- Keep Site compiles over 100 encyclopedia sources (http://www.bookrags.com/subscribe/details.html), Wikipedia being one of them. It also has unique content, the Book Notes and some other stuff. Why is this site still contested? It's discussed previously in the page's Discussion area. If you're upset about the site co-opting Wikipedia content, read Wikipedia's charter - it's encouraged. And lastly, I don't see where they sell Wikipedia content; they show it for free. --Chuckiedickens 05:15, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
- For notability concerns, here's an article about BookRags I found through a quickie search: http://www.snet.net/features/qa/articles/2000/11170101.shtml --Chuckiedickens 08:31, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
- Is reselling Wikipedia content allowed under the GDFL? It seems to be a violation but IANAL.
- If you can get people to pay you for a copy, you can sell it. You just can't keep other people from giving it away or selling it themselves. Robert A.West (Talk) 07:41, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
