Country Coast-To-Coast is one of the 24 hour live formats produced by the ABC Radio Network. Known on the air as "Today's Best Country", it's designed to appeal to a wide range of listeners, concentrating on a younger audience than would generally listen to traditional Country stations. Some of the featured artists are Kenny Chesney, Faith Hill, George Strait, The Wreckers and other contemporary Country music artists.

[edit] History

Beginning as one of the original Satellite Music Network formats over 20 years ago, it's studios and offices were located in Mokena, Illinois, just outside of Chicago. Shortly after SMN was purchased by ABC/Capital Cities in 1990, the format was moved to Dallas, Texas, along with the other SMN formats such as The Touch, Stardust, Classic Rock, and Starstation. The Pure Gold, AC and Z-Rock formats had previously been established Dallas location. In its over 20 year history, Country Coast-To-Coast has only had two Operations Managers, Mark Edwards and Dave Nicholson.

Citadel Communications purchased ABC Radio Networks and the ABC Owned and Operated radio stations from The Walt Disney Company in February, 2006 and will continued to use the ABC name. The Citadel acquisition is expected to be completed later this year and does not include Radio Disney or the ESPN Stations.

[edit] Policy Coherence for Development

In today's interdependent global economy, aid alone cannot end poverty and create growth. [OECD] countries therefore recognise the need for greater coherence in policies across sectors that affect developing countries. Policies in areas like agriculture, trade, investment, migration and others have a strong impact on developing countries, yet they often work at cross-purposes.

In 2002, Ministers therefore adopted The OECD Action for a shared Development Agenda. In response to this, the organisation launched a programme on Policy Coherence for Development.

[edit] History

Since opening Fat Beats in 1994, the stated mission of the company was to be the "last stop for hip hop" and that remains to be true today.

What does "the last stop" mean, exactly? Why the last instead of the first stop? That is a question we hear often. Let us explain how we see it. Fat Beats is the last stop for hip hop because our goal is to be the place that hip hop is safe to express itself in all its forms as it would as if it had a home, as you are similarly safe when you reach your "last stop" each day after you've done what you needed to do to feed your family, after you've navigated the socio-political minefield of the real world, after you've had to fight and scratch and claw for your respect from people who don't know you, who don't love you, and who don't understand you. At Fat Beats, we feel that hip hop needs a place like that.

Fat Beats is the last stop for hip hop - where the dj, where the b-boy, where the graf writer, where the emcee can come and feel secure that they are among family who love and support the hip hop culture as much as they do. At Fat Beats Records, it isn't about being old or new school and it isn't about being a backpacker or a thug. We're down with and support hip hop legends like DITC's Lord Finesse or EDO.G. & Pete Rock as strongly as we are down with and support the creative expression of today's hip hop explorers such as Atmosphere, J-Zone, J-Live, and Soul Position. 2006 looks to be a banner year for Fat Beats Records with a heavyweight roster including Count Bass D, Akrobatik, Glue, Louis Logic, Ugly Duckling and El Da Sensei. Also look for the debut album from newcomers Pseudo Slang and the sophomore effort from One Be Lo.

Fat Beats Records, the last stop for hip hop, is open. We hope we're successful in helping keep alive an avenue of expression for the artists and culture that we've loved since day one.

[edit] New Hampshire Snowmobile Association

The New Hampshire Snowmobile Association is an association of independently incorporated snowmobile clubs. The State of New Hampshire does not maintain the extensive network of snowmobile trails, but that duty is instead delegated to the individual NHSA member clubs.

In 2002, the NHSA successfully lobbied to have House Bill 1348, Chapter 253 enacted into law in New Hampshire. The law states that everyone who registers a snowmobile in New Hampshire needs to show proof of membership with a New Hampshire snowmobile club affiliated with the New Hampshire Snowmobile Association, or pay an extra $30.00 per snowmobile.[1]

[edit] Halacha of Overnight Eggs

Overnight Eggs An aspect of kashrut, discussed in Chazal is Chamira sakanta me’isura, meaning the safety of food is the primary consideration. One part of food safety is Ruach ra’ah, a danger associated with some foods. The Gemarah Niddah, 17a, says that a person who eats shelled eggs, peeled onions, or garlic that has been left overnight is endangering his life and will therefore be judged as a person who has taken his own life. The danger the Gemarah speaks of is ruach ra’ah. So does this concern of ruach ra’ah still apply to these foods today? There are many opinions from the later Poskim, commentaries, about this question. I. Yad Meir and Shevet HaLevi: This halacha is no longer relevant. They derive their views from the statements of Tosfos. Tosfos says that certain ruach ra’ot do not apply in “certain countries”. Only in the case where a mesorah specifically holds that ru’ach ra’ah is still established, do we have to be concerned with this matter. For those who are lenient with his halacha, Minchos Yitchak holds that this is an acceptable answer. II. The vast majority of Poskim: This Gemarah is still relevant in this day and age; however this danger is notably not mentioned in the Shulchan Aruch. Their opinion is based upon three points: First, that there must be complete proof that ruach ra’ah no longer exists. Second, there is a mesorah of ruach ra’ah still in existence. We know this because the Tosfos and Rosh both mention it. Third, Hago’os Mordechai says that perhaps one may be lenient; however he is not absolutely certain. How does one deal with the issue of ruach ra’ah? If the egg, onion, or garlic, etc. is mixed with other ingredients overnight, there is no issue of ruach ra’ah. The Klausenberger Rebbe adds that there must be an adequate amount of this “other” ingredient so that the egg, garlic, or onion’s taste is affected. (Eggs, onions, or garlic cannot be used as the “other” ingredient.) How do Kosher certifying agencies handle the ruach ra’ah complex? They rely on the answer of R’ Moshe Feinstein. This allows for certification of all commercial egg, garlic, and onion products; however it does not allow a caterer to crack eggs for the next day’s function. Agencies that do not accept this approach either mix in other ingredients, or cook the food.

Ruach ra’ah is such complicated concept because it is something we cannot see and feel; therefore it is open to many different interpretations.

  • In practice today: All major Kosher certifying agencies (hechsheirim)outside of the state of Israel are not machmir, observant, of this halacha.*
