[edit] Chamber Reamer
- This request for creation has been reviewed. The result is below.
A chamber reamer is a specific type of fluted reamer used by gunsmiths and firearms manufacturers to cut the chamber of a handgun, rifle, or shotgun. The chamber reamer is inserted into the bore of a barrel and held stationary while the barrel is turned around it (typically by means of a lathe). The reamer slowly cuts away material, leaving a chamber capable of accepting a specific cartridge. Chamber reamers come in two general types - solid pilot reamers and floating pilot reamers. A solid pilot reamer has, as the name suggests a solid steel pilot on the end to guide the reamer through the bore of the barrel. These reamers are generally more durable and less expensive than floating pilot reamers. Floating pilot reamers use interchangeable pilots at the end of the reamer. The primary advantage of a floating pilot reamer is that it is self-centering and can be fitted with a pilot that is an exact match the barrel it is passing though. Barrels tend to vary is size by minute amounts, and this variation can create a situation whereby the solid pilot reamer fits too loosely or too snugly in the bore. Another advantage of floating pilot reamers is that the pilot itself does not spin with the reamer, and therefore is less likely to damage the bore. The primary disadvantage of the floating point reamer is that the nose of the reamer must be cut down in diameter to accomodate the reamer pilot, resulting in a more delicate reamer.
Chamber reamers are typically made of high speed steel and require lubrication during the cutting operation. A chamber reamer, regardless of pilot design, will operate most efficiently at speed of 200 to 300 RPM, and feed rate just fast enough to avoid chatter. Chamber reamers are designed with flutes to collect and extract the cut material, however these flutes must be periodically cleaned (typically after every .2" of cutting). Finally, reamers must be sharpened from time to time. Given proper care, a reamer can cut 10-15 chambers between sharpening.
Manufactuers produce most chamber reamers to SAAMI specifications so that any factory ammunition can be safely used in any firearm chambered with their reamer, for a given cartridge. Most reamer manufacturors will, however, produce reamers to customer specifications. These are useful to benchrest shooter who are willing to trade off compatibility for accuracy, and by 'wildcatters' - individuals who are interested in designing completely new cartridges.
In the US, the primary manufacturers of chamber reamers are Clymer, JGS, and Pacific Tool and Guage.

[edit] Redondo, Nestor
Nestor Redondo was born in Candon, Ilocos Sur, in the Philippines on April 5, 1928. He was most noteable as a comic book artist, although originally he was trained as an architect. Like many hispanic fantasy artists of his time he found commissioned work in the comic book industry. Nestor's popularity skyrocketed when he was commissioned to illustrate the blockbuster series 'Darna' in the early 1950s. In 1953, MGM Pictures comissioned ACE Publications to create a comic book preview of their international all star cast blockbuster QUO VADIS starring Robert Taylor, Deborah Kerr, Peter Ustinov, set to be shown in the country that year. Ace Publications assigned the job to Nestor Redondo who drew a 16-page preview written by Clodualdo Del Mundo, and serialized in Tagalog Klasiks 92-93 in 1953. He drew many covers for the likes of Marvel Comics and DC Comics. Some of the characters he drew and mastered included such icons as Conan, Flash Gordon, Superman, Tarzan, Swamp Thing, The Unexpected, Weird War Tales, Dracula, and Buck Rogers. In Christian comics he is perhaps best remembered as the finishing artist of DC's tabloid-size edition of The Bible (1975). In 1979 he received the prestigious Ink Pot Award at the San Diego Convention. At the end of his career Redondo worked as an animation designer for the Marvel Studios in Los Angeles. He passed away in December 1995, leaving behind a wife and several grown children.

[edit] The Sightless
The Sightless was written in 1890 by the Belgian playwright Maurice Maeterlinck. It is an intense one act play, which was one of the pieces mentioned in a list of Maeterlinck’s most characteristic plays. This list was highlighted in the speech given to honour Maeterlinck with the Nobel Prize in 1911. The play was originally written in French later to be translated into several different languages, as for example English and German. The piece is not only a study of human condition in general but it appears to confront its reader with the effect of hope on the latter. Unlike most other theatrical pieces The Sightless does not introduce its readers to readily shaped characters, but twelve depersonalised beings. These beings were not provided with names but titles describing their general condition, for instance the eldest blind man. This method of writing gives an audience, or theatre professional an opportunity to read between the lines and interpret the piece according to personal desire. Maeterlinck has since been considered as the founder of a new type of dramatic writing, Symbolism. Parallels have often been drawn with Samuel Beckett’s Waiting for Godot, which was produced in the mid 20th century and appears to construct a similar world of waiting and hoping, which is evident in The Sightless.

[edit] Rick Dewell
- This request for creation has been reviewed. The result is below.
- If your request was declined and you want to make changes and try again, copy and paste your article into a new submission and make your changes there.
Rick Dewell, also known as Dulius Caesar, born at least 100 years ago, is a historian and high school teacher living in Ontario, Canada. Throughout his career, he has made many accomplishments in the field of amateur archaeology and historical research, especially regarding ancient Greece. Dewell has many published works to his credit, and has also been involved in designing historical exhibits for the Deweltonian Institute with the help of some of his avid pupils.[citation needed] He has also conducted significant research into ancient Egyptian methods of removing corpse's brains during mumification.[citation needed]
For at least twenty years Rick Dewell has taught history at Newmarket High School. It is unclear how he obtained the position, but it has been said that Mr.Dewell vanquished his predecessor in the traditional history department deathmatch. This deathmatch is performed when a new thrall, a term referring to a fresh concurrent history graduate, challenges a current teacher for his or her position. Mr.Dewell has fought in several dozen of these matches, which end with eating his opponents heart, and taking the strengths of the young thrall. It is estimated that Rick Dewell now has the strength of 30 men and is impenetrable to most forms of weaponry.

[edit] Making It Fast
Rick Dewell obtained an honorary degree in education from the University of British Columbia following the development of his "make it fast" approach to education. This methodology suggests that in order to maximize educational oppurtunities, bathroom breaks and even pencil sharpening must be forced to operate at an alarming rate. Students adapt quickly to the "make it fast" system by replacing their wooden pencils with mechanical alternatives and by urinating in plastic bottles.
Notable opponents to the "make it fast" system include David Arthur Chalk, who used his plastic bottle for storing the shells of sunflower seeds that he left proudly on his desk and drove Rick Dewell to the brink of insanity through mockery or passive resistance. It is unclear what adaptations Rick Dewell will be forced to make to the "make it fast" system following his encounter with the young Chalk, but the update is expected to be published in his upcoming novel, "How The Desk Was Won".
[edit] Controversy
In 2006 Mr. Dewell generated some controversy among parents and students by promoting Erich von Däniken's controversial book, Chariots of the Gods? He has also been known to parade around the school dressed as a medieval knight in armour and helmet, though many believe this is a clever aspect of his teaching method.[citation needed] Despite these issues, Dewell has remained generally popular with parents, students, and Medieval costumery vendors alike.

In this class Mr. Dewell effected some of the greastest minds to ever cross his pass, David Chalk, John Budinsky, Jack Rose, Ian Chisholm, Devon Ketchson, Taylor Milley, Kevy T, Holly Gragtmans, Matthew Pezzaniti, and Jullian Wallace. Mr. Dewell was able to teach these children deemed unteachable by his colleagues.
[edit] Trivia
- Mr. Dewell has announced his plan to retire from teaching at the end of the 2007/2008 school year in order to pursue his archaeological ambitions.
- Mr. Dewell believes that Cheops and Khufu are seperate people, the latter the son of the former.
- Common folklore claims that Mr. Dewell is a direct descendant of Genghis Khan
- Declined. Your article appears to be a joke. It might be a wonderful entry in Uncyclopedia, a wiki where jokes and parodies are highly encouraged. But sadly, Wikipedia requires a stodgier, more factual tone in its articles, and your comedic efforts cannot be rewarded here. Patstuarttalk|edits 22:58, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Xmeeting (software)
The goal of the XMeeting project is to develop a set of powerful and free Open Source videoconferencing applications for Mac OS X. By implementing the H.323 and SIP protocol stacks, these applications offer full compatibility with well-known videoconferencing clients running on other platforms such as “NetMeeting” on Microsoft Windows, Ekiga (aka GnomeMeeting) on Linux as well as other commercial clients available. H.323 or SIP compliant standalone solutions (e.g. Polycom) are also compatible. This project is based on the work of the Openh323 project, which provides the powerful Open Source libraries that implement the H.323 and SIP protocol stacks.
Two applications have so far been developed by the XMeeting project: ohphoneX and XMeeting.
XMeeting is the main videoconferencing client developed by the XMeeting project. This application has evolved from ohphoneX and provides more videoconferencing features and a much nicer GUI. You will find more information about XMeeting in the XMeeting section on this website. XMeeting 0.3.1 has been released on July 31, 2006.
OhphoneX is an older H.323-compatible video conferencing client for Mac OS X. There is no active development on ohphoneX but users of Mac OS X 10.3 "Panther" will still need ohphoneX as XMeeting requires Mac OS X 10.4 "Tiger". You will find more information about ohphoneX in the ohphoneX section on this website.
