You have an article for the 48 Hour Film Project, which is almost the same thing, except this is 21 days long. Both items should be linked as similar festival types. Please delete this text before publishing this article. Thank you!

Project Twenty1 is a film festival & competition where 21 teams have 21 days to create an original short film or animation based on a common secret "Element." The festival takes place in one select city, but is open to filmmakers internationally. All films are screened are screened at a public venue, judged, and released nationally on DVD. [edit] The Beehive Boot

Each year that BYU-Brigham Young University (Provo, Utah), the University of Utah (Salt Lake City, Utah), and Utah State University (Odgen, Utah) all meet on the gridiron, the winner is crowned the best college football team in the state of Utah for that year and recieves The Beehive Boot Trophy. If each team wins one game and loses one game, then the local media votes to decide that year's winner. The Beehive Boot was created in 1971; the boot itself it estimated to be over 100 years old. In its 35-year history, the Beehive Boot has been awarded to BYU 20 times, Utah 10 times, and Utah State 5 times. It currently resides with the Brigham Young Cougars.

[edit] Cast and Calendared Vinyl Films - How are they made and whats the difference...

Calendared Vinyl Films are named for their manufacturing process. Vinyl is shredded and heated in a mixing vat until it's in a dough state. It is then pushed through rollers that stretch and form a vinyl sheet or film. The adheasive is then applied.

This process puts a lot of strain and pressure on the vinyl as it is pressed into shape. Causing the film to be thicker than Cast and have more of a memory eg. stays flat and does not conform around curves.

Cast Vinyl Fims are manufactured differently. Instead a combination of liquids and chemical ingredients are mixed and poured onto a flat moving web sheet known as a casting sheet. The sheet then runs through a series of ovens which cure the mixture leaving behind a solid film. The cast process causes less stress on the film and allows for a thinner result. This allows cast films to be more durable and form around compound curves.

Don Warren (August, 1964) is a well regarded luthier and the founder and owner of Warren Guitars His electric guitars are played by the likes of Arlen Roth, Buck Dharma Blue Oyster Cult and Dan Toler (Allman Brother's / Dickey Betts)

Warren is originally from Cambridge, New York. He made his first guitar as a way to obtain multiple tones without switching instruments. Catching the eye of a local sound engineer, it was suggested he bring this idea to the masses.

Since that time, Warren Guitars has obtained much praise from reviews on both harmonycentral and from a review done in Vintage GuitarMagazine in April 2006

Arlen Roth Nashville session legend and founder of Hotlicks Video commissioned Don to make his signature model guitar. Warren was thrilled to have the opportunity to make a guitar for the man who had done much of the soundtrack for his favorite blues movie (Crossroads)

Upon completion, Arlen quickly recognized what had been created and was able to put the guitar to use on a number of recordings employing a wide variety of tones without the use of any other guitar.

Movie trailer music creator Robert Etoll enlisted the use of Warren Guitars to provide the wide variety of tones he needs to create his soundtracks.

Warren Guitars hand makes each and every guitar in the U.S.A, using many components he has created that are not available on the commercial market.

Standing 4-foot-4, Matt Cappelli is the shortest Division-1 Athlete. Growing up outside of Philadelphia, he went to St. Joseph’s Prep in the city where he took part in Crew (Rowing) and won a high school national championship his freshman year (1999) and placed 2nd the following two years. He later went onto to Syracuse University (2002-2006) to study engineering and be a coxswain, where he held the record for shortest Division-1 athlete in America. Point of interest: some people say he currently resembles Peter Dinklage of Nip/Tuck fame.

[edit] Southwest Detroit Cesr Chavez Academy

Southwest Detroit Cesar Chavez Academy

The Beginning: The idea for Cesar Chavez Academy started with the death of life-long Southwest Detroit resident and community volunteer Roland “Irish” Irwin in September of 2005. In recognition of the Rev. Don Hanchon’s services and kindness during the time of Irish’s passing – Irish’s son Patrick offered to assist Rev. Hanchon in exploring options for the vacant parochial school owned by St. Gabriel Catholic Church. The building was in significant disrepair with numerous roof leaks, electrical system problems, etc... Mr. Irwin and Rev Hanchon began discussions with the Michigan Partnership for New Education (MPNE) about establishing a charter school in the school building. At that time, the newly formed MPNE, led by educator Bill Coates and businessman Al Taubman were seeking an opportunity to establish their first opportunity to manage a charter school. Negotiations between the leaders of the community and MPNE progressed quickly and an overture was made to Saginaw Valley State University to charmer the school. By the close of 1995 an agreement was reached between MPNE, the representatives of what would become Cesar Chavez’s 1st school board and Saginaw Valley State University (chartering university of Chavez) to open the school. MPNE later was renamed ‘The Leona Group” in honor of Bill Coates mother – Leona Coates. The Leona Group, headquartered in Lansing, Michigan is now one of the nation’s largest charter school management companies and began it’s business with Chavez as its first school.

History of school name: In January 1996 a community meeting of over 100 residents was held in the school basement to announce the establishment of the school as well as to choose the school’s name. Led by Fr. Hanchon, Patrick Irwin and Bill Coates the residents overwhelmingly supported the establishment of a charter school in the building. When the assembled group was asked by Pat Irwin as to what the school should be called, Maria Chavez – a lifelong resident of the community stated to the assembled audience “Cesar Chavez – he’s our Martin Luther King” – to which everyone in the room began applauding. No other names were suggested and on a one voice recommendation – the name was selected. The school honors the legacy of Cesar Chavez who dedicated his entire life to the cause of social justice and the rights of all to dignity and respect.

School Growth: The first year students enrolled at Cesar Chavez was in the fall of 1996 in grades K through 3 – with slightly over 200 students. Over time grades were added to the school one class at a time until Cesar Chavez became a K- 12 school district. During the period of this growth the Board of Directors rented a building off Trumbull and Labrosse to house the middle school (grades 6 through 8) in addition to the St. Gabriel church location. This middle school building location – some 5 mile away from the grade school necessitate the establishment of a bussing transportation system between the 2 campuses. In recognition of the growth of students in Chavez school System, the cost of the bussing program – as well as difficulties with the leased building for the middle school - the Chavez Board of Directors through investment bankers issued a ten (10) million dollar bond issuance to build a high school located on Waterman Avenue (1999) and a six (6) million dollar bond issuance to build a middle school on the same campus. (2004) These bonds are payable over a 30 year period. The issuance of these bonds – all done at the behest of the Board’s community volunteers – represent the largest investments ever taken in Southwest Detroit by a volunteer community based organization. The oversight construction of the schools was undertaken by developer Norman Lopatin of the “Lopatin Company”

School Facts: Cesar Chavez Academy has an annual enrollment of approximately 1,650 students in grades k through 12 with 600 of those in the high school, 600 in the middle school and approximately 450 in the grade school. The mission of the school is to be the top urban based school in the country as evidenced through motivated and prepared instruction, a disciplined learning environment and a commitment to providing students with the tools and resources they will need to be successful in life. The school colors are Red, White and Blue and were chosen by the Board of Directors to celebrate the diversity of Americans – just as we celebrate the immense diversity found within the students at Cesar Chavez. The Motto of the school is “Si Se Puede” – “Yes We Can”. The school mascot is the “Aztec Eagle” and the school campuses are as follows: Grade School: 8668 West Vernor, Detroit, MI 48209. High School and Middle School 1761 Waterman, Detroit, MI 48209. Each school building as its own school leader, assistant leader and the all 3 schools are overseen by a school superintendent. The current superintendent is Juan Jose Martinez – a lifelong resident of Southwest Detroit.

Other: Chartering University: Saginaw Valley State University Managing Partner: The Leona Group LLC– Lansing, Michigan Board of Directors: Patrick Irwin – President (and founding board member), Tony Ramirez – Vice President, Mike Murray – Treasurer, Gloria Kosilla – Secretary, Felix Valbuena – Board Member, Norman Bendt – Board Member, Nicole Rodriguez – Board Member.
