[edit] Reasons for keeping

My reasons for keeping, to be added in lieu of the AfD debate I missed (linked above), or future debates, is that this should be kept not as a primary article in itself, but as a subsidiary article to J. R. R. Tolkien. The information is verifiable, and keeping it in the main article about Tolkien would make that too long. In other words, this is a daughter article of J. R. R. Tolkien. Keep for as long as the J. R. R. Tolkien article exists. If J. R. R. Tolkien is ever deleted (yeah, right!) then delete this as well. The only other alternative is to merge this information into an article about Tolkien's family in general. Maybe Tolkien family? Carcharoth 14:08, 8 July 2006 (UTC)

An article about Tolkien's mother would also be good, as she had greater influence on him anyway. Merging sounds okay, but there's no pressing need for it so far. Uthanc 08:50, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
