Artur Kogan

Artur Kogan (born 29 January 1974, Chernovci, Ukraine) an Ukrainian–Israeli chess master.
Kogan immigrated from Ukraine to Israel with 2 years old! He spent more than 20 years in Israel, and then lived in a few other countries. His current residence is Tarragona, Spain.
In 1981-1989, Kogan won town open championships in Israel of Bat-Yam, Holon , Rishon-Lezioh, and Petan - Tikva. He was a winner or shared for 1st in many international tournaments. Among others, he took 1st at Vlissingen 1996, Ljubljana 1998 and 1999, Montreal 2000 (Québec open ch), Bergen 2001 (Nordic Scandinavian open ch), Genove 2002.
He was Sub-Champion at Paris open 2005, and won at Tarragona open 2005. He won at Tamarite de Litera 2006, and shared first place with Sutovsky and Smirin at Ashdod open 2006.
Awarded the GM title in 1998.
