About Arts Hub

Arts Hub is a membership based service that publishes arts industry information, for the UK, Australia and US. All members receive access to Arts Hub’s arts jobs classifieds and independent and authoritative arts news service, delivered via the web site and daily e-Bulletins.

A Little History Arts Hub Australia was founded in 2000 by entrepreneur couple, David Eedle and Fiona Boyd, who initially ran the business from their own kitchen table. Their concept was totally fresh and original - to establish a free membership-based service that provided a weekly Arts Jobs Email. It didn’t take long for the industry to embrace the concept and recognise this invaluable service for the arts – over 75% of members stayed with Arts Hub when it moved over to a paid-for service in October 2000. Arts Hub has continued to gain the support of opinion leaders and industry experts such as Arts Hub Chairman Terry Cutler (previous Chairman of the Australia Council 2001 – 02) since its inception in 2000.

The business has evolved dramatically in response to the industry’s needs, to become the largest online publication for the Australian Arts Industry. These days, the News Service receives as much appraisal as the Jobs Classifieds from workers within the arts industry, many whom use the site to stay engaged and informed of happenings in the Arts. The Arts Hub concept went international in 2002 with the launch of Arts Hub UK, followed closely by the launch of Arts Hub US (formerly called Arts Hub Global) in 2004. Both have been rapidly building a strong brand presence in markets since, with the view to further expansion in Europe and Asia.

Following such substantial growth, the Boyd-Eedle partnership sold Arts Hub businesses in September 2006 to a syndicate led by Simon Baker, the Managing Director of Realestate.com.au (Australia’s leading online realestate website). Baker is renowned for his passion for investing in established smaller online businesses with the view of helping them to meet their full potential on the global stage. This sale recognized Arts Hub’s immense potential in Australia and also in overseas markets to meet a universal need within the arts industry to be informed, connected and employed.
