The Arts Council of Kern is the official Kern County, USA arts council.

[edit] The Artists in Residence Project
The Artists in Residence Project provides opportunities for classroom residencies with local artists for twelve weeks, at two one-hour visits per week.

This pilot project wove together music, poetry and film to bring home the concept of energy conservation. Under the guidance of musician/poet/photographer Tony O'Brian, fifth-graders at Valle Vista Elementary explored the issue of energy use in their community.
[edit] The Migrant Education Arts Project
In collaboration with the California Migrant Education Project, this summer program provides multi-disciplined arts enrichment opportunities for the children of farm laborers attending public schools in Kern County.

Partnership between the arts and healthcare. The project, The ART of WELLNESS, is based on the core belief that the arts can be a healing modality for body, mind and spirit.

In Rio Bravo-Greeley School’s auditorium, Dr. Wilma Poage, Director of Kern County Superintendent of Schools Special Education Programs, and two other Special Ed teachers created this work.
