There were many of the same artists and songs at both Live Aid and Live 8.
These songs were sung at both Live Aid and Live 8 (although some not by their original artists). Songs are listed with their Live Aid performers, with the artists who sang the songs at Live 8 (if different) in brackets:
- "Driven To Tears" - Sting
- "Every Breath You Take" - Sting and Phil Collins (Sting)
- "Good Vibrations" - The Beach Boys (Brian Wilson)
- "I Don't Like Mondays" - Boomtown Rats (Bob Geldof)
- "Rat Trap" - Boomtown Rats (Bob Geldof)
- "Rockin' All Over The World" - Status Quo (Coldplay, chorus sung during their song "In My Place")
- "Save A Prayer" - Duran Duran
- "Tears Are Not Enough" - Bryan Adams
- "Vienna" - Ultravox (Midge Ure)
- "We Are The Champions" - Queen (Green Day)
- "We Will Rock You" - Queen (Robbie Williams)
- "Won't Get Fooled Again" - The Who
These artists did not sing the same songs but still performed at both events:
- David Gilmour (played with Bryan Ferry in 1985, and as part of Pink Floyd in 2005)
