Arthi Agarwal (also Arti Agarwal, Aarti Agarwal; Telugu: ఆర్తి అగర్వాల్; born March 5 in New Jersey, USA) is a Tollywood actress. She was brought up in New Jersey until the age of 14.[1] Sunil Shetty invited her to dance on stage in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA when she was barely 14. Big B who was there too encouraged her father to take her to Bollywood.[citation needed] As a result, she did her first film Paagalpan in Hindi in 2001 but it was not a hit.[2] She then went to Tollywood. She did her first Tollywood movie Nuvvu Naaku Nachav with Telugu actor Venkatesh in 2001, which was more successful.[1]

On March 23, 2005 at around 2 AM, Agarwal attempted suicide by drinking bathroom cleaning liquid due to rumors about herself and fellow actor Tarun. She was discharged from the Apollo Hospital at 1:30pm on the same date in Jubliee Hills, Hyderbad in Andra Pradesh.[citation needed] On February 15, 2006 while she was coming back from dinner to her apartment, she fell while climbing the stairs, but made it to her second-floor apartment, where her father gave her painkillers. When she woke up the next day, her father called a doctor, who advised him to take her to hospital; she then underwent an a hospital in Banjara Hills.[2]

Arthi’s younger sister Adithi has also joined in films. Adithi acted in Allu Arjun's Gangotri
