Artemis (software)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Artemis is the brand name of one of the world's leading software based project planning tools.
Artemis 9000/EX runs on both Microsoft Windows and IBM OS/390 operating systems. It is a fully scalable and customizable tool, and unlike other planning tools, it can be programmed to fit exactly what the customer requires.
Although Artemis was originally a mainframe based tool, today it can act as a server application that can communicate with web based user interfaces.
Artemis had its origins in 1976, when Metier Management Systems created Apollo, the forerunner of today's Artemis tool. The current version of Artemis, 9000/EX, has been in existence since 1983 and is now at version 9.
A newer addition to Artemis's product line is Artemis 7, a pioneer in Portfolio Management tools.
Artemis also purchased software vendor K&H in the 1990s and now market their Prestige tool as Artemis Views. Artemis were purchased by Versata in July 2006. Since then Versata have made severe job cuts in Artemis, and are moving Artemis's development group to India.
