Art Institute Dhaka

The Art Institute, Dhaka or renownedly known as CharuKala Institute (Bengali: চারুকলা ইন্সটিটিউট) is situated at Shahbag on the campus of the University of Dhaka. It is the first art institute in the country founded by Zainul Abedin. He was the founder principal of the then Dhaka Art School. In the mid of fifties the school started in the old Dhaka and later it shifted in the Shegun Bagicha area for two years. After that it moved to its current location, in the heart of Dhaka city beside the National Museum.
