Arnold Ehret (18661922) is the author of several health and fitness books.

Ehret's idea about attaining good health was that most foods in the modern diet create mucus in the body which hinders the elimination of toxins from the body and is a breeding ground for infections. Therefore, he advocated foods that he considered mucus-free or mucus-cleansing, i.e. fruits, especially citrus fruits, nuts, and green-leafed vegetables. He also considered fasting a good way of allowing the body to cleanse itself from toxins.

All of his books were apparently published after his death, which was due to a head injury.
