Arno Atoll
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Arno Atoll is an atoll of 133 islands in the Pacific Ocean. It is a legislative district of the Marshall Islands. Its land area is only 5 mi² (13 km²), but it encloses a lagoon of 130.77 mi² (339 km²).
The population of the islands in the atoll is 2069. The most populous islands are Ajeltokrok, Kobjeltak, Rearlaplap, Langor and Tutu. At a distance of only 20 km, it is the closest atoll to the Marshall Islands capitol, Majuro Atoll, and can be seen looking east from Majuro on a clear day. The largest village is Ine, Arno.
The atoll is unusual as it has two lagoons. The land joins together on the eastern side creating a separation between the two lagoons. A third lagoon could be defined as well, but the land does not break through the water surface.
