Arnemetia

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In Celtic mythology, Arnemetia was a water goddess worshipped in Britain. Her shrine was at Aquae Arnemetiae ("waters of Arnemetia"), modern Buxton in Derbyshire, England.[1]

Arnemetia's name contains the the Celtic word "nemeton", meaning "sacred grove", so her name is interpreted as "she who dwells over against the sacred grove".
