Added "He is acknowledged in the press for restoring the status-quo after the civil war, which ended in 1992. Advocated opening the economy by privatizing state-owned companies and pension funds and modernized the country's infrastructure. Credited with integrating former guerrillas into society, after Hurricane Mitch devastated the country in 1998 he took on the further challenge of rebuilding the country. sourced from latintrade.com, thomas.oc.gov and hartford-hwp.com (commended for tireless efforts), I also see some negative - it's not all roses so hope to have hit neutral tone.Alf 16:14, 23 Jun 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Right wing propaganda
Someboby has tried to embelish and sanitize salvadoran history here. They didn't mention that Calderon Sol comes from a military family who was responsable for the killing of hundreds of salvadoran peasants. They didn't mention that Calderon Sol was one of the founders of the death squads who were responsible for the torture and killing of thousands of civilians. It seems this has been written by a propaganda writer from the right wing party from El Salvador. It's neither accurate nor complete. I will delete it , and I will post Armando Calderon Sol's complete biography soon.
