Armoor

Armoor is a town in Nizamabad district of Andhra Pradesh, India. It was recently upgraded to a municipality. Geographically Armoor is situated on NH-7 (Hyderabad-Nagpur) and NH-16 (Nizamabad-Jagdalpur).

It is also known as Navanathapuram.The name was because of 9 hills which are present around it on which there is a saying that 9 Rushis used to stay .It is one of the major town in Nizamabad district. Armoor division is popularly known for agriculture. ANKAPUR and Anksapur are few villages from this division well known in state level for agriculture. A village named Velpur is recognised as a first village gaining 100% literacy throughout the India, belongs to this division.

Armoor has increased with people going abroad for furthur studies like USA and Australia.
