[edit] Origins and culture

During the early 90's, after an influx of Armenian immigrants due to the collapse of the Soviet Union, a dense population of Armenian's grew in Los Angeles County (primarily in North Hollywood and Glendale). Due to the oppression faced by the young Armenians in the areas from Hispanic gang members, young Armenians united in North Hollywood grouped together to form Armenian Power.

[edit] Present day

Boxer, the founder of the gang, fled the U.S. in 1994 after being suspected for murder of a rival gang member[1] , the gang itself broke apart due to a lack of discipline. The whereabouts of a majority of the original members are unknown, while some are known to be imprisoned. Today, some youth claim affiliation to a new form of the gang, but there have been no recorded activities of the members in any reports.

[edit] Mafia Ties

Some have claimed that AP had ties to the Russian and Armenian Mafias, but there has been no evidence to support these claims.
