Talk:Arles
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Regarding two of the Roman structures in Arles: the one in this photo is a full circle, whereas the other (depicted in the pillar ruins image) is only semi-circular. I was under the impression that the term 'amphitheatre' refers to a venue that is not a full circle, though it looks like I'm wrong on that. Either way, there should be some distinction between this image and this one -- calling them both by the same term is misleading, as they are completely separate structures in different locations.
Also, to the submitter of the first image -- JPG usually works best for photos, and PNG for everything else. Probably doesn't make much difference in this case, but it's something to keep in mind. --Patik 17:17, Aug 2, 2004 (UTC)
- This photo is the Roman amphitheater, which is a circular structure. This one is the Roman theater, which is semi-circular. olivier 19:57, Nov 20, 2004 (UTC)

There are alignment issues with this article - The first table (on the right) is above the text, and this table should be beside the text. --EunuchOmerta 15:39, 17 May 2006 (UTC)EunuchOmerta
[edit] Pronunciation
How do you pronounce "Arles"? Is it "AR-ehlls" or "AR-less" or what? AThousandYoung 08:41, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
