Arkam Asylum

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Arkam Asylum was a UK cyberpunk band, formed in 1999, and signed to Wasp Factory Recordings.

The band, known as AA to fans, formed in the seaside town of Brighton around the same time as bands like Freudstein, Psychophile, and Swarf, all of whom were signed to Wasp Factory Recordings.

AA's members now live in different places across Europe, but the band lives on in the form of an experimental DJ crew known as Arkasai, which plays and releases material very occasionally.

Amon Zero is now the lead singer of UK band Xykogen.

Angel Arkam is now playing bass for Istanbul-based jazz/noise group Pis Yabanci.

[edit] Lineup

Arkam Asylum had 3 members: Amon Zero [vox, programming], Angel aka Miette's Brainchild [guitars, programming], and Bug [live samples & sequencing].

Earlier band members included KT [electronica] and Pink Bob [guitars].
