Arjinderpal Sekhon

Arjinderpal Singh "A.J." Sekhon (born 20 January 1949) is a doctor and Army Colonel who ran for Congress in California's 2nd district in 2006.

Born 1949-01-10 Sekhon currently lives in Yuba City, California. He attended Medical College Amritsar, India in 1971 where he earned a medical degree, the US Air Force War College, Air University, in 1979, and the University of Northern California where he earned a Justice Degree. He is a Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve's 36th Civil Affairs Brigade and has otherwise been self-employed as a medical doctor since 1979.

He won the June 2006 Democratic primary to gain the nomination to run for a seat in the United States House of Representatives, defeating Bill Falzett.

Sekhon opposes the Iraq War, and supports health care reform and environmental issues.

Sekhon lost to Wally Herger in the November 2006 general election, garnering 33% to Herger's 64%.[1]
