Arizona State Route 89A

State Route 89A (SR 89A) is the section of U.S. Route 89A decommissioned between Flagstaff, Arizona and Prescott Valley, Arizona.

89A's southern section begins two miles south of Flagstaff as an exit of Interstate 17. It takes a very scenic and winding 24-mile route through Oak Creek Canyon, before reaching scenic Sedona. After passing through Sedona, the highway continues southwest for another 24 miles before reaching Cottonwood. Two miles later, the highway reaches Clarkdale near Tuzigoot National Monument. Between Clarkdale and Prescott Valley, Highway 89A makes a steep ascent and descent of Mingus Mountain and passes through the historic ghost town of Jerome. 89A merges with Arizona State Highway 89 near Prescott.
